Rare Causes of Stroke
Rare Causes must always be considered when presentation is unusual or clinical signs and imaging do not add up or in a younger patient. If you do not consider them then you will not diagnose them. However there can be the usual scenario of sending a lot of tests without thought resulting in a false positive being taken seriously. Bayes teaches us that in certain choices when the a priori risk is low that a false positive may be more likley than a true positive.
